Avoiding Payroll-Related Cybercrimes
Payroll-related cyber crimes aren’t new, but their prevalence has reached new heights. In 2017, the FBI reported a total of 17 payroll-related scam cases. That number soared to 47 cases in just the first six months of 2018.
One of the most common scams, warns the FBI, involves criminals accessing employee information in an attempt to divert employees’ direct deposits into fraudulent accounts.
