Problem:

This organization had been utilizing one of the national payroll vendors and found themselves feeling frustrated due to an overall lack of response when they needed guidance. As a non-profit, they were not receiving the direction and customization they should have in the areas of fiscal reporting, general ledger, labor distribution and OSHA compliance. In transitioning to an alternative platform, they experienced a long, painful sales process, even though this was an internal transition. They were also performing functions related to payroll, such as time off accrual, attendance tracking and other human resource tasks externally within several systems.

Response:

After a thorough Balance Point needs analysis, we recommended the following approach:

  • Give the client 24/7 access to all of their current and historical payroll and human resource data.
  • Implement an HRIS as part of same database and create customized reports for the client eliminating hours of tedious manual work.
  • Establish an ongoing training program to empower this company to achieve the maximum efficiency and benefit from our system.
Result:

90 days later our strategy is paying off, as we have a client who is in total control of their payroll and HR reporting needs. Through a series of web trainings, the client contacts are producing fiscal, OHSA, and time off accrual reports at will. She also has a professional Relationship Manager as her sole contact and is achieving her goals through this one-on-one partnership. Balance Point has also customized their General Ledger into a report, giving the CFO the ability to complete all postings immediately after processing.
